About Megan N. McDonald

Megan N. McDonald is a Senior Attorney at Kinnett & Cordes and has practiced exclusively with the firm since 2022. She represents clients throughout Colorado in a broad range of family law matters, including divorce, complex property and financial issues, maintenance, child support, parenting time and decision-making, domestic violence and protection orders, and adoption.

Ms. McDonald approaches family law with a combination of thoughtful advocacy, careful preparation, and practical problem-solving. She understands that family law disputes often involve deeply personal circumstances and significant uncertainty for clients and their families. Her goal is to provide clear guidance, strong advocacy, and a strategy tailored to each client’s circumstances, whether a matter can be resolved through negotiation or requires litigation.

A Colorado native, Ms. McDonald grew up in Littleton and has deep roots in the community she serves. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Colorado Denver in 2018, with minors in Political Science and Legal Studies, before earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in December 2021.

During law school, Ms. McDonald earned a certificate in Constitutional Rights and Remedies and graduated with Public Good Distinction in recognition of her commitment to pro bono service. She also gained substantial litigation experience through internships with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office and Colorado Mental Health, as well as through the University of Denver Criminal Defense Clinic. Her work with Colorado Mental Health focused on policy initiatives designed to expand public access to mental health services.

Outside of the office, Ms. McDonald enjoys reading, exploring Colorado with her dog, and discovering new restaurants throughout Denver.
