Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals (LLPs) are licensed legal professionals in Colorado authorized to practice law within a limited scope, specifically in family law and domestic relations matters. Unlike paralegals, who work under an attorney’s supervision, LLPs can independently provide legal advice and represent clients in qualifying matters. Governed by C.R.C.P. Rule 207.1, LLPs help bridge the justice gap by providing affordable legal services to individuals who may not otherwise be able to afford an attorney, while also helping alleviate the burden on Colorado’s court system.
